 History of Needleman’s  Bride & Formals

Needleman’s is a family run business that was started in 1925.  Ed Needleman started our family business with a small general merchandise store in Newport, Vermont.  In 1936 Ed's wife, Martha joined him, and headed-up the Bridal department.   In 1964,  Ed’s son, Marvin and his wife Carol joined in the family business.

This family business with its traditional values grew over the generations and developed a focus and an exceptional expertise in the Bridal and Formal apparel area.

In 1994, Marvin's son Mark and his wife Heather took the bridal and formal apparel business to the next level and opened a full service shop in St. Albans, Vermont.  St. Albans is also the birthplace of the Needleman's Traveling Tuxedo Team.  This wonderful service picks up and delivers tuxedos right to the grooms home or hotel.

February 2005, Needleman's  Brides and Formal opened it's third location in South Burlington, Vermont on the Shelburne Road in the Shaw's Shopping Center.  The Needleman family has been successful in the bridal and formal business for over 80 years because they hold true to the strong values Ed Needleman stood for.
